Training Plan

Post by Polmaise »

I've started a training Plan for Cassie and Dee.

They are now 6 1/2 weeks old so they have been on solids for 2 weeks, and a few sucks from mum.
Which has helped with the nurture between human and dog.

First we got the idea of retrieving to be fun at 5 1/2 weeks old, a tennis ball is good to start with.

Then we got a good recall with the ball, at 6 weeks old.

A reliable hold is important!...a little competition also helps?

Around this time ,it is advisable to familiarise the pup with the equipment we will be using.

At just over 6 weeks,i't time to introduce them to some Game ,in a relaxed environment .

Well when have got the hang of all that, we can introduce the hunt !

And finish off with a 'Flush'.

Nic, the coat is to die for ;)
Which is what I was looking for.
Dee is the slightly larger one , and 'bold as Brass'!....Cassie 'thinks about things' then overtakes the Bold

Cassie and Dee are now 8 weeks old,and the 'Training Plan' is going to schedule (wonder if I should apply for Charity Status   )

Cassie' the second pup in the clip is not as confident as Dee', and she needs a little more encouragement, but she will catch up.
Recall conditioning is well on it's way  ...the basis of 'Everything' imo ,for this training plan.
They go for their first injections this week (That's usually a big adventure for them)...the staff at the vets always look forward to new pup's and I usually get a few comments when I arrive with a couple of black bundles inside a Game bag
