TRAINING WEEKEND

Post by Polmaise »

Following on from 'Terry's suggestions (Scotsgent).
I am organising a Training weekend Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th March.
This will be the 'pilot', for which I intend to seek status through KC Sub Comittee ,to form a 'new Gundog club/association' in Central Scotland, under KC Rules, for tests and trials.

The Saturday will be for 'Spaniels', and the Sunday for 'Retrievers'.(A seperate day will be confirmed for HPR's)
The day will consist of a series of 'scenarios', using simulated training products, and 'cold game'.
Each stand will be explained, and instruction following each task(s),by a 'Professional Gundog Trainer.
The afternoon will consist of a 'mock test', using KC regulations, and there will be prizes awarded.
The venue will be in Central Scotland, and directions will be sent on confirmation.

Costs ? (haven't got a clue :? ) , there are a few 'sums to be confirmed'?, Liability insurance, gratuities, equipment ,numbers attending etc etc,But I imagine, circa £20?
Anyone interested pm !

 Well done Robert ! I remember we talked about the possibility of this back in the Autumn. This area is crying out for a club that tries to help beginners. The Lothian and Borders used to do that and pretty successfully too but it all stopped for reasons I won't go into here.

As a handler, its impossible to make your dog perform better than it is, but very easy to make it perform far worse.

Another one for the spaniels - would be great to get a club going that actively holds training days / events!

Well done Robert
