Taking my 15 week Labrador puppy shooting
Hi, So we have a 6yr old lab and he is an amazing gundog, but we never had the opportunity to mix him with other dogs when he was young and now he starts a fight with any dog he sees. Because of this I have been taking my 15 weeks old puppy the last three weeks to my local shoot. To learn to be soci...

Did your dog grow out of it then?Springcopse spaniels wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2019 1:08 pm I'd not be fussed. Plenty of growing to be done yet and aid its development with plenty of chewing toys. I had a pup I bought in, grown out of that long ago and perfect bite.

Re: Recall for puppies
I use treats for a good recall with pups, a nice high value treat, something like Simpsons Premium sausages. My pup is 5 months old next week, and is just hitting a stage where she thinks she can start to ignore me, so I'm upping the rewards. How often and how long would you recommend training a pu...

Re: Labrador 12 week old puppy overbite 9mm
One of my pups from my first litter got her bottom jaw stuck in the crate they slept in, and she has a slight overbite to this day, is it possible something similar has happened? I know the jaw bones can grow at different rates, so you may well end up with a correct scissor bite. I must say, I'm sh...

Re: Recall for puppies
No problem, I have been told by a few game keepers just try to avoid treats because the puppy is too interested in the treat than doing what he’s told, as it may distract him.
Thanks for the advice, I will deffo start using treats and the whilst together.

Recall for puppies
Hi, I have a 12 week old Red Fox lab, and is lovely, however he is super chilled! I have got him to sit and stay, but I am having problems getting him to come to me. He just sits and looks at me most the time, I don't really want to use treats, as I would prefer to use praise as he will be a gun dog...

Labrador 12 week old puppy overbite 9mm
Hi, A couple of weeks ago I bought a Labrador puppy, to be trained as a working dog, both parents are registered. However when I took the puppy for his 2nd vaccination the vet noticed the puppy had a overbite of 9mm. Is this a lot? It is really bothering me as I bought the puppy for £800 and worried...
