Re: Undersubscribed Trials

It's not just under-subscribed trials that is becoming a problem. We had 51 entries for a Novice AV spaniel trial yesterday and wen't right through all the reserves. People seem to be sticking entries in left right and centre regardless if the dog is ready. The last couple of days before a trial is...

Re: Top 5 spaniel trainers in th uk

Not all the top trialing handlers train their own dogs, so you're looking at 2 different things here. The top trainers, then the top handlers. Now some will overlap but not all. You will find that a lot of people will give various variations on this! I don't get this, if you train a dog to such a s...

Re: Successful trainers' commonalities ?

Only if you don't discard any... ;) So, what's the commonality, other that being able to pick and choose what dogs you train? :rotfl: doesnt everyone have that option? you choose the breeding you pick the pup from, you pick a pup from lines you have experience with, and have had success training.

Re: Successful trainers' commonalities ?

surely all you are training is obedience and handling. hunting comes from the breeding, its there or its not - long as the trainer doesnt bash obedience into a dog, a drop the drive. a good dog will always be a good dog, a well trained dog is different to a good dog in my eyes. i would rather put a ...

Re: AMS in English Springer Spaniels

do you know which strain it has come from Vicky, or Enid? Only the breed health coordinators would know that and it doesn't seem like they're going to be giving out that information until there are a few more dogs tested. It would be helpful if the owners of the carrier parents voluntarily disclose...
