Re: Robinsmoor Frolic
I was lucky to get a Cressett dog 4 years ago. He's a heavily marked, brown headed beast. Not too big, but medium sized and muscular. Brad is sometimes - or usually - head strong and hot, but hunts like hell. Keith is still breeding, but not very often. His Cressett bitch line comes from 1983/84 Cha...

Re: Best waterproof jacket?
I think you can find also this in UK: http://www.sasta.fi/en/products/hunting
I've had Sasta Wolf jacket and trousers now 6 years and they are still ok. Maybe not the best looking gear and expensive but quality is good.

Re: Reintroducing wolves to the UK?
It would be wise not to bring wolves back. We have them here in Finland and they can be a real problem. Ten years ago, when I lived in South-East, wolves killed 23 hunting dogs in our county area. Close hunting dogs, like spaniels were safe. In some cases they took dogs from the kennels. Big game, l...

Re: Game bag.
Go to eBay. There you'll find Sherwood game bag, size large. I think this is what you are looking for. Got one myself two years ago and it's just the right thing. Big enough to put a cocker in...

Re: Hunting with Springers, Finland
Handler is my friend Juha Lindroth who won Swedish AV Championship with that more black springer. The white-faced springer was third there. Juha is top class handler and trainer and also a very nice chap.

Re: Hunting in Sweden
In southern parts of Finland we have little population of wild pheasants, which originate from shooting estates. In Sweden is better situation I think, because southern Sweden has better climate conditions. Woodcock is nesting here and we have also migrating birds. Best season for woodcock is around...

Re: Hunting in Sweden
Yes, my springers and cockers have retrieved a capercaillie cock. It's quite a big bird and when wounded it can fight and scare a dog away. Some years are better when hunting totally wild birds, population can vary depending on weather during nesting time. If you can shoot one or two capercaillie co...

Re: Hunting in Sweden
Here in Finland things are nearly same as in Sweden. Maybe the biggest difference is the bird hunting with (mostly) Finnish Spitzers. Spitzers hunt in big area (about one km) in front the dog handler. When a dog finds a bird (a capercaillie or black grouse) it flushes the bird and usually the bird s...

Re: New Car
I've had a 06' Pathfinder diesel one year now and I'm quite pleased with it. Lots of space, more than Land Cruiser (I have 6 spaniels). Goes 7,5-8,0 litres/100 km on highways and of course more on the small roads and city. Mine is automatic which I didn't like first, but when the engine and gear box...
