Darn Socks

Seasons Greetings to all. :-p Having bought myself a good pair of shooting socks I am disappointed to see that after wearing them for a few times they are wearing thin above the heel ankle area and nearly holed in one area. The wife says it is because they are all wool and the rubbing from my boots ...

Re: Wellington boot care

Thanks, I have seen a silicone spray on Halfords which is used for rubber trim and seals around cars to keep them supple.should be okay for zips.

Wellington boot care

Does anyone use silicone spray on their wellington boots and also for keeping the boot zip in good condition?
Can you recommend a silicone spray?

Regards.

Re: Flushing game

I'm inclined to think the same as Wullie - accept that in certain situations pegging can and will happen. As long as it's not a daily occurance I don't loose too much sleep over it. Just hope it is not a white pheasant she has pegged,Milly came walking down the hill proudly with a pegged white phea...

Re: 1st day, 1st season

Would it not be beter to leave the gun at home during the first couple of weeks and then the dog has your full attention?
It is a lot in my opinion to expect a young dog to sit still as a peg dog especially a spaniel in its first season.

Re: Training Plan

Enjoyed the video, been doing the same with the flash floods in the fields . I am always looking to use what is available to assist in training. Noticed the fantails in photos. I have a bird table near the kennel and the pup just sits watching the birds coming and going from the table. We have a cou...

Re: how do you stop puppy spitting out dummy?

Stop giving the cheese when training the retrieve. The pup will obviously spit the dummy out in order to eat the cheese. Carry on rewarding it with cheese on the sit and re call but definitely no cheese for the retrieve.
