Re: FTCH X FTCH cost
It's funny that people baulk at paying for quality breeding, and paying £100-200 more than for something 'run of the mill', and yet when you look at what you spend on FT training days and shoot days etc, that sum pales into insignificance over the considerable life of the dog...

Re: FTCH X FTCH cost
I sell mine for £1,000. They've been that price for past couple of years and I've stuck with it as I consider it fair. Although I have heard that I charge a lot more!! LOL......

Re: Repeat Matings - Successful in Trials
The article below helps explain why you don't necessarily get the same second time round, if you are outcrossing particularly, as the combination of genes passed on would not necessarily be the same. Re: Labrador COI's
Helene, the graph basically plots all the Championship runners against the KC alleged mean Labrador COI. So, around 42 dogs were above the average COI of 6% and just 12 were below. With the average COI of the Championship qualifiers actually being something more like 9-10% (my own bitch amongst thos...

Re: Labrador COI's
Here goes. Seems to be working again now?
The person that put it together is hugely knowledgeable in the world of Labradors, and keeps their own very detailed database, which would indicate the true mean COI for the breed is actually around 10% (as KC doesn't deal with imports etc).

Re: training session frequency
Yes naj your right it was Milner. Have to say that imho training every day consistently must surely be the best idea as long as the dog enjoys it. Yes, but there is also a phenomenon known as 'latent learning' whereby dogs actually learn more from having a rest/day off, where they process the infor...
