Re: Extravagent toys (shotguns)

It's not my gun but I used a BSP on Keepers day this year. I found it comfortable to carry all day and will be looking to purchase one in the future for my own use. That said, I'm hardly an expert.

Re: Letting him off the lead.

Thanks Jelinga: that tells me there is something called an epiphyseal plate. So what? Do you have any scientific evidence to back up what you say about exercise damaging joints? I don't think there is any. I see various vets quoted as saying there isn't any such evidence, so it will be interesting ...

Re: Egg Thief...

It is sad, I used to get eggs from down one of the local lanes outside Andover, (had a choice as well, sometimes duck eggs, sometimes bantam eggs but always chicken eggs) until one day they were no longer there. Happened to see the owner one day and stopped to enquire about it, turns out someone sto...

Leaving spaniel at home

Ok, in 2 weeks time I am being made redundant. Being unsuccessful in finding another job in time, I have decided to go back on the tools and possibly start up my own company. I currently have 6 months of subbie work in the pipeline but it does mean I won't be able to bring Oscar to work with me any ...

Re: Bertie update

I have an absolute nightmare trying to get my springer to heel, he's constantly bouncing off the end of the lead. Take him to my trainer, a couple of checks and you'd think he was an obedience dog! I got told by my trainer it was me who taught him to heel, wish I knew how because it doesn't work for...

Re: To tug or not to tug?

Sorry, I actually read Vicky's post after posting mine so it does make more sense now. It was exactly what I used to do with my BM, as you can imagine, full on tug with him could get intense so one of the first things he was taught was to drop or release. As for wrestling......it never happened, and...

Re: To tug or not to tug?

See, I'm getting a little bit confused with all this. If you can't play tug, can't do too many retrieves, how exactly do you play with your dog?

Re: Which wellies?

Aigle Parcours for me, worn daily walking the dogs, and every weekend through the shooting season whilst beating, no leaks as yet. I also have a pair of Muckboots, which are so warm I can't wear them through the summer or while beating.

Re: AN URGENT PLEA FOR HELP

Sorry for not keeping this updated, just been put on 4 weeks notice and in my own little world atm. Connie has a condition called IMT which means she isn't replacing her red blood cells (quote from FB post). After my initial post, she had a bad reaction overnight, but then picked up the following da...

Re: AN URGENT PLEA FOR HELP

Thanks, I have passed the url on. Hopefully the vets didn't know about it.
