This is all I was asking for. A bit of help.
I suggested he'd go somewhere else, but he wants my help.
So, the least I can do is help him. I'm all for whistles. And I can do that training. That's not out my depth.
Just looking at what you guys could come up with.
This is the problem with forums. Ask for a little help and get shit on. I'm just saying I'm quite capable of helping this bloke, but majority of dogs I've trained are from 8 weeks old more or less. Me personally hasn't had a problem of an older dog chasing. No need for the cockyness. I am your oppo...

We may all have the same pitch, but we all sound different when we blow it ;) Well I had an old dog and she did get a bit confused with all ...
I think you have indirectly answered your own question, you train from eight weeks old, the other person has skipped that bit by the sounds of it so take the dog right back to basics and get control over it before letting it loose near game again. Basic obedience is basic obedience regardless of br...
if he doesnt use a whistle he guna have a sore throat, lol, why not use whistle? Because if he goes on a shoot everyone has the same pitch. So I told him to just get a different pitch whistle! Personally I do everything with the whistle. And I'd teach the dog the stop whistle. But if the owner does...
Has anybody got any ideas how to stop an 8 month ESS from chasing game?
Somebody has asked me to help him with it, but I've not come across this problem as I always train from 8 weeks old more or less! Help!!
He doesn't want to use a whistle either!
Thanks!!
