Re: Bryn's blunders
That's what I'll do, most of the judges are club members and know Bryn well

Re: Bryn's blunders
Thanks for the support/suggestions and yes being DQ'd would be worth it to sort the ratbag out if I can't find a spaniel training day in the meantime.

Re: Bryn's blunders
Naj I accept that obviously he isn't 'steady' What I meant by situational is that other than some tests he is 'steady' on land, water, rabbits and pheasants to the point I can call him off a rabbit, bolting rabbit &etc. I've been trying to work out why he is inconsistent. What is happening is he...

Re: Bryn's blunders
yup it was a great day overall, even won a bottle of wine in the raffle :-D The unsteadiness is situational and I now have some ideas on how to resolve it, mostly recreating the situations but in a way that I can have physical control of him. Apart from that there is nothing in the tests he isn't ea...

Re: Bryn's blunders
May tests today, decided sod the scores it was just a nice day out with Nell and the dogs. Tests were held in the stunning setting of Corsock House, worth a trip just to see the grounds. Test 1. was a fairly straight forward hunt up and stop to shot then retrieve a mark, I kept his hunting tighter t...

Silage is about to kick off in earnest soon so its a constant trade off between working to keep the pennies coming in and doing...

Re: Bryn's blunders
Jelinga thanks for the encouragement looking at the scores it was quite a strong field even in novice. Wullie I know, it's down to my not having had enough time to do much with him recently. I was quite shocked when he ran in not once but 3 times, it's sorted in our usual places now - can even get h...

Re: Bryn's blunders
Well the our test season has started and it was with some trepidation I took Bryn out for the day as we've done next to nothing for most of this year. The weather was beautiful as was the setting up in the hills above Tynron. Test 1. a simple walk up, sit/stay & recall followed by a short marked...
