Re: Two masters?
Yes I know, at the time we got the girls OH was having a break from shooting so I got the show type as they are less hyper, one of the traits I hope they pass on to pup, at least in the house! Lol

Re: Two masters?
Thanks for all your opinions, much appreciated. My husband trained our old springer to a really good standard whereas I have never done any gundog training before, but desperately want to give it a go, just have to convince him now that I 'need' a pup! We have 2 8 year old show cocker bitches and he...

Two masters?
My husband wants a dog to take out shooting with him and I would like to beat/pickup with it on his game shoots, however due to work commitments he doesn't have time to train one but I do. Is it possible for me to train a dog to work with my husband? He could do a bit on occasion, or is this going t...

Re: New collars.
Very smart.
Mine always have collars on now, I learned after a few altercations that it was easier to pull them apart with collars on! Luckily we haven't had one for a few years now but I still leave them on. (Not working dogs)

Re: Best budget kibble? CSJ champ?
I feed mine on the summer Autarky. £13.59 for 15kg from Costco, they all love it, but I'm not sure how it fairs nutritionally compared to some of the others. Would be interested in opinions. I have in the past used Arden Grange, Royal Canin, burns and Fish 4 Dogs, I did once try the Skinners muesli ...

Easiest to train springer or cocker?
Ok, I had set my mind on a working cocker pup this summer, but we always had springers in the past (I now have 3 show type cockers), OH keeps saying how easy the springers were to train compared to the wilful cockers I now own! ;) Is there really that much difference in personality between the wc an...

Re: Travel sickness
One of my cockers was a bad traveller as a pup, she would start drooling as we were loading her into the car, ginger biscuits helped a little as did the bachs rescue remedy, but what really cured her was a 6 hour car journey up to Scotland. We covered their crate and set off, we stopped about every ...
