Re: Dog hard of hearing after dummy launcher
She is very alert and ready to mark a fall. I havnt noticed any hard of hearing with the shotgun. This morning she is better but still not 100% but now I think she knows that I'm worrying about her and asking her to come to me or sit all the time so I can gauge her hearing, which will be strange in ...

Re: Dog hard of hearing after dummy launcher
I'll try that Rascal. She hears the whistle perfectly and behaves like normal. just not the lower frequency voice commands. She loves retrieving and I took her outside and threw a ball for her and then she waited for me to say 'fetch' but she didnt react when i said 'fetch'. I said it a little loude...

Re: Dog hard of hearing after dummy launcher
I can call her or do anything when I'm in the same room as her and she doesn't respond at all. If I tell her to sit she doesn't and she Normally is bottom straight down.

Dog hard of hearing after dummy launcher
Hi all. I've been using the dummy launcher with my ess she's fine with gunshot but she tends to lose her hearing a bit afterwards. She's a very biddable dog and she struggles to hear my voice afterwards. Okay on the whistle tho.
What do you think? Is this normal?
Thanks Chris

Re: inconsistant hunting while training
I had the exact same things not so long ago with my bitch, I was concentrating on the windscreen wiper pattern which meant using too much whistle and on at her a fair bit. Then she didnt know what she was doing wrong and kept looking at me not wanting to leave my side. I was so frustrated. Now she i...

Re: Barking contagious or just in the breeding?
I think there is many ways in which you can reduce the chances.
But I will be training them seperatley obviously so I don't think this will be too much of an issue.
