This gives me heart. My pup is arriving on Friday, he has working lines on the mother's side, but his Father is a working Huntaway sheep dog who got lucky!

Thanks shamykebab. Taking the dog for a good walk morning and evening will not be a problem, both my wife and I enjoy walking.

I've always fancied a nice looking border terrier (after a lab of course) having seen my mates perform perfectly adequately whilst flighting ducks! As well as the usual terrier "bushing" skills.

I have considered two dogs as company for each other, maybe a lab from working stock to work, and perhaps a terrier/mongrel from a rescue centre who would quite happily run into cover looking for bunnies.
