French Spaniels

Can any one tell me anything about the breed? Do they make good working dogs? Not really heard of them before.

This is an interesting question. Perhaps this is not just the ability to read and understand dogs, but an ability to read the situations on working days. An understanding of wind direction scent and how weather conditions effect scent. The ability to stay calm when things aren't going to plan. I hav...

I always get a bit worried about entering these discussions but have enjoyed this thread. What about Ballantine boy for mathershill? Never seen the dog myself and I am interested in other people's views.

Ears

Hi
Any advice on what to use on the inside of dogs ear flaps. Ears are clean but the flaps are fairly sore from brambles and quite dry.

Re: Looking for a suitable Springer stud dog

A tool, but you cant beat old fashioned stockmanship and a good eye Agreed (think I have a lot to learn)struggling to find what I want on our local shoots. I thought if I could find what I liked on paper then we have the whole shooting season to perhaps see the dog work and see if it would complime...

Re: Looking for a suitable Springer stud dog

Ok still doing my homework, but I have a question for you all. If you use the coefficient calculator (I know some of you think this is bollocks just humour me) and you put in your chosen stud against your bitch and get a 9.1 why is it that when you then look at the pedigrees you can see duplicate do...
