Re: First visit to a trainer

Hi I had my first one to one session / assessment with the trainer over the weekend, a little later than expected due to a few issues at home. Well after the hours assessment my fears became a reality. I have gone about things totally wrong way. All was not a total disaster and my boy behaved relati...

De shedding tool

Ive been toying with the idea of getting one of these for my 11 month lab as looking at the vids on line they certainly appear to “do what is says on the tin” I can see it helping with the “Labrador tumble weed “ around the house and the visual appearance of his coat but I have concerns as to whethe...

Re: First visit to a trainer

Muntysman, that was exactly what I was after spot on, Thank you. I’m looking forward to furthering his and my training. Wullie Thanks for that, that gives me a good marker on where an experienced trainer / handler like yourself would be at this point. As I have said I’m a total noddy at this and hav...

Re: First visit to a trainer

Thanks trekmoor, I agree with that. We are going there to be trained evidently so the exercise is to improve on what we have already done. So he will come as he is. I’m just not sure on what to expect.. So far his: Re call - pretty good however it’s not proven whilst there are many distractions arou...

Re: Slip lead on a puppy.....!

I find this debate very interesting as it’s one we had and still have in our house. The O.H. Prefers a harness, I prefer the slip lead. If I’m out around the fields and woods and lanes at home either training or just walking then it’s a slip lead all the time as I feel a lot more in control with thi...

First visit to a trainer

Hi all I have been bumbling along so far attempting to train my boy with some success and indeed some failures, so I have decided to go to a trainer for some help. I have been in contact with a guy who was recommended to me by one of the staff at our vets. We had a chat in regards to what I have tri...

Local slang and sayings

Just for a bit of fun... I’ve always liked to hear local sayings and slang for every day phrases etc, I’m always using them when away from home and have got some strange looks and a few “wtf is he on about” there seems to be a broad spectrum of folk from across this fair land on here and other lands...
