Carlton is a great little book. I bought the 70s reprint when it first came out on Moxon’s initiative. And an early fan of Thorndike and Skinner. :-D

I've paid £24 for the 1912 1st edition.
There is a 9th edition on EBay asking price minimum of 150....

Is there going to be an auction?
I've put my offer in, awaiting a response. Perhaps the admins have been on the source over Xmas. The thought of keeping us lot in order over the next year 😁
Undecided, am going to re-read it when I get a minute, try and see what all the fuss is about! From memory its not half as interesting as Hedley Millington's book.

I thought HM’s book was a bit of a disappointment from a training perspective. Interesting anecdotes and a lot of name dropping but he did a lot of criticising others about harsh handling until finally revealing that he was pretty harsh himself by many people’s standard. It promised a lot but didn’t really deliver for me.

I had another look at Peter Jones's book and remembered why I'd kept it - its got loads of photos of my dogs' ancestors in it, otherwise it might have been moved on as it wasn't terribly impressive, just another dog book.
