Sorry to hear that and you probably knew no better but I would most definitely not have bought a pup off epupz for a start and I hate to say this but you can't even be sure the dogs you saw and the papers matched either.

This might be a stupid question, but how do you ever know for sure the 'dogs you saw and the papers matched'
Breeder says 'This is the dam, this is the sire', ok, how do you know for sure?????????
This is what i was thinking too after reading the post by rascal.

Isn't this the site where alot of stolen litters end up, if people can clone cars and tap into your credit card the unscrupulous can come up with registration documents for a litter, I was looking at another well know pets for sale web site there was 11 pages of cocker dogs/pups advertised in 1 day!! Cant help feeling very sorry for the bitches sad life!!
My tin hat is at the ready Before being Health tested stock now have to be micro chipped and the micro number is recorded by the KC with their registration so swapping pedigrees/results could become a thing of the past if people insisted on health checked parents
IF you have the information it may be worth talking to the Kennel Club
Plus talk to them about registering on to the activity register if you want to have a form of registration that allows you to compete in their activities - don't know if it works for working trials etc but certainly works for agility
As you say one for experience - tbh there is no excuse really for a breeder to say the paperwork will follow - my last litter were tattooed at 6 weeks and I still had all the documentation from the KC to give to the buyers when they collected the puppies at 8 weeks - it takes as long as it takes you to type out the names of the puppies on the computer to register them. You should have been warned that there was a problem by the breeder as they would have been contacted fairly immediately and then at least you would not have been disappointed

Just a note to say that a tattoo is also acceptable by the KC/BVA scheme for identification purposes re health testing.

Dogs that are registered on the activity register may compete in ALL KC licensed events BAR:
Breed Showing
Gundog Working Tests
Field Trials
thus HWTM, Flyball, Agility, Obedience, Working Trials may be entered by mutts etc.

I might look into this one in the future, to be honest i would be happy to just be able to do a bit of beating and picking up with him. I met a bloke at the rugby club today who said that he has some mates who do some mid week shooting near me who are always looking for beaters and pickers up etc so i wthink i will follow that route when he is ready.

Amazing what you can get from the bloke down the pub....
Good luck with the beating
the irony is a dog is bred from known lineage yet the dickheads at the KC are not prepared to record the fact. that before we even start on registration and documentation.
so in keeping with betterment of the breed, they have now added distrust and rumour within the dog buying fraternity, its fine to say the breeder should no better, it doesn'r detract from from the facts of pedigree

I also noticed a big stack of paving slabs behind the club house that weren't doing anything, I dutifully enquired and these will now also be coming back to mine in 2's and 3's for free after each training session and match. These will be perfect to put down in the big run in the garden I did price it but due to the size didn't bother but with free paving slabs i thought why the hell not!
As for the beating we are a little way off yet but it is looking promising
