so in keeping with betterment of the breed, they have now added distrust and rumour within the dog buying fraternity, its fine to say the breeder should no better, it doesn'r detract from from the facts of pedigree :brickwall:
The breeder has said to me that they would happily do DNA testing to prove the parentage of Billy but to be honest i believe them anyway. I think they genuinely did let their bitch have this litter thinking it would be the last one in accordance with the KC rules but misjudged it. I know he is a pedigree cocker but the KC wont acknowledge him because of the mistake by the breeder even though they know his full pedigree. I suppose this rule is in place to stop breeders from turning their bitches into breeding machines which I agree with. Just one of those things, but i also see your point.

:-D I also noticed a big stack of paving slabs behind the club house that weren't doing anything, I dutifully enquired and these will now also be coming back to mine in 2's and 3's for free after each training session and match. These will be perfect to put down in the big run in the garden :-D I did price it but due to the size didn't bother but with free paving slabs i thought why the hell not
Fair play to you :-D

I always allow my puppy buyers to have input and suggest KC names.
Therefore I don't send off the KC reg by snail mail till they are mostly sold. My contract guarantees they will be KC reg, and I offer my vets TN as a reference for me, if they care to pursue it. I also have letters of reference from the Parent Breed club for 2 of my breeds. If they were refused registration, ( I can't think how or why) I can offer a full money back guarantee and the option to keep or return the pup if it were to happen, besides the financial refund.

We pretty much got offered what you say, take Billy back and get our money back, keep him and get the KC registration fee back or get a bitch pup at a very good price from a future litter from a different dam. As we have had Billy for 8 weeks already we did not want to part with him so we went for the option of keeping him and getting the KC reg feeback. I also asked for a copy of the letter from the KC, copy of the sires pedigree and a copy of the dams pedigree, dont ask me why though :-D Just seemed like the right thing to do.

As for getting a bitch pup, i seriously doubt we will get one from this breeder although we are considering getting a new pup around December time.

Cheers

Probably best to wait for next spring/summer if youre going to be looking for a new pup. the best dogs will be working in the winter and unlikely to be having litters ;)

As a handler, its impossible to make your dog perform better than it is, but very easy to make it perform far worse.

Just a minor correction arwesa - the best bitches will be working this winter etc etc - the dogs are happy to stud at any time.

No I would say have the unregistered pup for about £200.00, as that is the "real" price of a mutt, even if it is a pedigree mutt. As this has never happened, I can say it. They should have known the rules, and its their mistake, so should "pay up" now not with the next litter. Why make you take 2 of their pups?
