Carry On’s Flyball Team comes to The Midland Game Fair

Carry On’s Flyball Team comes to this year’s Midland Game Fair

Attending the upcoming Midland Game Fair in September, Countryman Fairs welcomes one of their newest acts to the Working Dog Village, the Carry On’s Flyball Team who will be bringing their fast and furious dog racing relay to this year’s most anticipated event.

Formed in 2006, the Carry On’s Flyball Team is made up of many dogs, including border collies, cross breeds, Spaniels, Labradors and even a German shepherd. Involving two teams of four dogs and their handlers, Flyball is a fast relay race that has teams racing against each other as well as the clock. Sponsored by Pool Farm Vets in Crewe, the Flyball Team will test the skill of the dog and handler as they race over four jumps to retrieve a ball from a spring loaded box.

Flyball started as a sport in the late sixties and early seventies, in Southern California. Today’s game has now expanded to countries across the globe, including Australia, Canada and South Africa, as well as into Europe in places like Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and the UK, all of which have National Flyball tournaments and joint annual championships.

The current British record for Flyball racing stands at 16.42 seconds, which was set in May of this year. With the Midland Game Fair soon upon us, and the Flyball Team ready to bring their superb displays to the Working Dog Village, will there be a new British record to end the season with?

The Midland Game Fair takes place over 17th& 18th September 2011
