new puppy coming home in the morning !

Post by carolinew »

Hi. I am excited about the morning as I am collecting my 8 week old cocker spaniel puppy ! She will be coming to a home with 2 labrador retrievers, who are both worked by my partner. The cocker will be my first working (hopefully!) dog although I have had dogs in the past. :-D

Hello and welcome, brave girl... My Cocker is 9 weeks now and driving us nuts, in the nicest possible way, I think. At the moment she is trying to kill my shoe lace but at least she isn't chewing usb cables, look on the bright side.

I have got the next 12 days booked off from work, although I work from home anyway as a childminder. I have been waiting for the right dog for over a year now - we have some friends who are gundog breeders and trainers - and they have been brilliant in helping me find the right dog. Just cant wait til the morning now !

Hello and welcome from another childminding family (both hubby and I) and our two english springers who are now 13 and 16 months old. Look forward to seeing pictures.

Thanks all for your responses. Collected Ruby mid morning (although I had been awake since 5 !). She seems to have taken everything in her stride today, she is very active and alert for an hour or so then has to have a power nap. We have had a great first day with her - will let you know how the first night goes tomorrow !! We have taken lots of pictures today will try and upload the best over the next few days.
