Bill. A few of my friends swear by Lundhags. Not sure if it's the same ones they have but they're a tall boot in leather which obviously needs waterproofing treatment fairly regularly. I was very tempted to purchase but they were expensive at around £250 and I found the Bestards to be more suited to me.

Thanks Duncan, I know there is a shop in Edinburgh that sells Lundhags , I'll maybe take a look in there before buying. At about £270 per pair I think these boots are very expensive.

If such a boot was on the market I would be buying a pair of Hoggs Brashers with a high leg. I have the ankle length Brashers and they are by far the best boots I've ever worn but just occasionally I have to cross a ford in a river which is a bit too deep for them !

The guys I know with them rate them very highly and I only went for the other boot as I got a better deal on it. I think with boots you have to invest a few quid if you're going to be in them a lot and in water a lot!

Bushwear in Stirling do Lundhags too.

What about trying the Black Islander waterproof gaitors. They're particularly cheap at about £65, but I bought a normal "cheap" pair 3 weeks ago, for £40, and I've worn several holes through them already.

Harkila Pro Hunter boots if you're in the market for good, high lace-up boots Bill, or Meindl Dovre's.

Thanks, my problem with boots always is that I have VERY broad feet. Size tens would fit for length but very often I have to buy size 11 1/2 or even size 12 to have enough width in the boot.

Oh, someone else with duck feet? What i use is Graninge Sarva Plus. They look clumsy but are light and extremely comfy to walk and stand in during long hunting days for me. However, they too are quite pricey but since it's something which has to be completely dry and fit well for long days out at hunts i think it's money well spent. If you ponder to try them out, make sure you get the Sarva Plus and not the one saying just Sarva, they changed the design slightly to avoid an unfortunate crack in the leather.
