Orijen feeds

Post by linney36 »

Hi all,
was wondering what you all think of Orijen, 80% protein and 20% vegetables no grain, again we have had to take the littleman to the vet for diarrhea again another 50 pounds seems to be every other week.
want to feed raw but have got no chance with the missus totally against it nomatter how many films i find and documentarys showing what the dogs eat in the wild :brickwall: with not a single grain of rice or grain in site, so have done a little research and found this product as the next best thing will try to mix with raw when missus not about
what do you all think i feed him science hills puppy food
king regards

I bought more Orijen for Sooty the other day and she loves it (the blue bag) as its the one that suits her as it can be quite rich and give them the runs so you have to be careful but the blue bag doesnt so thats why I feed that one. , however its not the only food she gets as she is fed raw too :-D Have you seen the raw food from this company its superb and its all nicely minced too with everything in it. :-D

This is the Orijen one I feed Sooty

Agree with Pink - "the missus" may be happy with Natural Instinct because it's got all the additives in it to make it a complete food, no bones visible and comes in nice plastic boxes which don't leak blood all over the place when thawing out! Even my ex-veggie very squeamish daughter can feed the dogs with this

hi I feed Barking Mad dog food normally 'bad hair days' lamb and rice or the 'fusspot' salmon and potato
mine don't seem to like chicken varietys.
feed a bit of raw at the weekends or tidbits whilst making dinner.
we did have months of trouble when they were younger, but finely settled on large puppy purina proplan lamb and rice, and stuck with it, and eventually they improved.
changed over to Barking Mad to help improve the labs ears as she had a few infections and wasn't sure if the feed just didn't suit. have gone through 4 sacks now of BM and her ears are loads better.
pups do have sensitive tums so hopefully he will grow out of it as his immune system gets stronger.

Natural Instinct is a very good halfway house to proper raw feeding. I use it for puppy weaning before moving them onto proper raw.

I feed raw, and as I like my dogs to really get a jaw and muscle work out I would not feed mince only.

When I cannot feed raw, eg if I am away for a few days not near shops, I feed Orijen 6 fish variety. Superb food.

I would not touch Hills with a Barge Pole

I've been feeding Orijen 80/20 for the last 6 months having one dog who has had huge problems with his gut and its been a wonderful well tolerated food. My youngest gets a bit squitty with grains so its been great for him!

They have some reduced bags (25% off) with slightly damaged packaging at the moment, so a good time to get a bag in and try it.

Yes , I can recommend Challenge. Excellent quality kibble food.
Their customer service is topnotch.
Sharon Pinkerton has given me great advice on feeding my GSP.

They have decent size samples available to try when changed over to them
