thanks david and judy.
Yes, I know it doesn't seem like it, but I usually train in waterproofs  my confidence took a big nose-dive, and quite frankly Rosie was bored with a tarmac lane/ house and an uptight mum who didn't like a camera on her

Ok, think i've finally figured it out
gosh you's are all clever

I need to: stop praising the pick-up
stop praising a return where the dummy has been dropped (including touching the dog)
ensure that the dog returns the dummy to me, and that I do not pick the dummy myself.

I GOT THREE RETURNED TO HAND TODAY (out of three. she dropped one, but I made her pick it again...the light is dawning i think) :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
She just doesn't know what I want, but once she twigs, I have no doubt she will do it.
My fault entirely, as I suspected....but we all have to start somewhere.

Thank you all sincerely for your feedback and comments, I really appreciated them all.
Will post you's a clip of her happy, flying...and retrieving to hand (hopefully soon)
