I would leave it to the new owners to buy them.

You should provide the pedigree at sale; but this could be one you have typed yourself if you don't want to pay the KC. I think most buyers expect to get the pedigree in some form. You could just get one for your own pup (if you are keeping one) and copy this (this is what i got with my first dog).

You don't have to supply a pedigree but if you do, and it is one that you have written up yourself then you have to certify it, sign and date it.

Form of words such as:

Pedigree of Name, Breed, Sex, Date of birth
I certify that to the best of my knowledge this is a true and accurate record

I did my own as I leave buying the pedigree to the new owners, plus its nice to have your own pedigree with the new owners name on it.

If you make your own you can add FTW's also (if you know them), whereas the KC dont include them.

Also, a friend of mine that we studded our Toby to, did a really personalised one with photos of dad & mum!

There is software you can use & I believe there are many, some costing a few quid.
I have used Kintraks. It's free & you use plain paper in the printer & prints out all different fancy designs.
It's a real pain inputting all the info, but you only do it the once..

Thanks again

The one that the KC sends out has the new owners details i.e name & address printed on it, so I wouldnt photocopy if I was you.

They will however, send you confirmation of registration for each pup, once you register them on the KC's puppy register. So you'll get one registration certificate per puppy that you can give new owners.

When we sold our pups we made our own one up..didn't see the point in paying the KC for them. If the owners wanted proper ones then that is their choice...all my owners were very happy with that.
