By my way of counting she failed on one element , not two. She failed the retrieve over the fence. Her other failures were all in the Open test. The judge did a wee bit more than say she should be trialed..... he wanted to buy her. I don't know if her owner will sell or not , I don't think he will though.

I wasn't told her hunt mark compared to the winning dog but was told her hunt mark was higher than the dog she was to have a run off with.

My neighbours, the ones that own Rosie the vizsla, have a bloody ginormous big rabbit as a pet. It has free run of their garden and is allowed into the house too ..... along with Rosie, a terrier cross and a staffie. Rosie defends her food bowl from the other two dogs but not from the rabbit who pushes in and munches happily on her grub !

The rabbit and Rosie play together, they take shots each at chasing each other ! Rosie has often had the rabbit in her mouth but never harms it. Every time I take Rosie home she sight points that rabbit out in the garden. I have made use of this by getting Rosie used to me stroke praising her as she points. Only rarely do I ever get to send her in to flush however, that crazy rabbit comes lolloping up to her to play with his pal !

I'm mentally picturing Rosie pointing a rabbit on a shooting day and then turning and running away to get the rabbit to chase her ! I don't think that's very likely though, the one time I took Rosie into a rabbit pen she broke the thick rope checkcord I had her on ..... twice !!!

It always makes me grin when I watch Rosie play with her pal.

I don't know if it's still alive but I keep a close eye on my dogs if I pass that garden !

A few days ago my neighbours gate was open and I just got Dax back in the nick of time ...... his ideas on how to "play" with their rabbit would have been a bit different from Rosie's !
