Walking stick
Re: Walking stick
In 1983 I was trekking to Everest in Nepal which took me through rhoddie forests. That's where ours came from. Over there they grow to huge tree size. I had picked up a small discarded branch and was very slowly whittling it into a walking stick with a Swiss army knife. A Gurkha came along, and took it off me. He attacked it with his kukrhi and in 2 minutes presented me with a stripped walking stick that I still have. He didn't say a word just disappeared down the mountain.

Fascinating people the Gurkhas. I've worked with them for years, a lot of respect for them

In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.
