Beating Trouser and Jacket Suggestions

Post by Mad Jasper »

Hello

I am going to purchase a good pair of trousers and jacket for beating

I seem to always end up in thick brambles, probably because I have the only dogs that will work through them.

I have tried to research but I can't seem to find any recommendations, I really need a tough pair

Any suggestions
walking in a springer wonderland.....

There may be some sensible snippets buried in the forum:

I've got a seeland jacket which so far has done 3 seasons and hasn't let me down and some trousers called Hart which I bought at a show have been very good but I can't find them in the UK any more to replace them!

A discussion on best trousers for beating? That's how all this started..... www.hilostmyclothes.com

I bought a pair of Deerhunter Hienna (i think thats the right spelling) trousers last year and i find them first class for beating and picking up in any terrain they are very comfortable and dry and very warm.

I like the Duck Dry range that is manufactured in Leicestershire. They do have a website, but you cannot order through it. If you are going to the CLA Gamefair, they are likely to be there. I bought a budget seeland jacket and trouser set that was just not robust enough to stand the rigours of ploughing through brambles ect. My duck dry gear is in its fourth season.

I've had a pair of Duck Dri leggings for years, they are still in one piece although they do have to be reproofed regularly now. I.e. washed in Nicwax stuff. :)
