I haven't. They were on my shortlist but I'll be staying loyal to Meindl after all. They seem to be a boot that folk either love or hate. I always knew that and was willing to give them a bash but I've heard some disappointing customer service reports.

We will be like a walking Harkila advert
Me too :-D

I'm just disappointed that they have stopped doing the long length in most of the trousers now :(

Unfortunately I'll have to stick with my Grisport boots, which are letting dampness in, on drier days and my Superlite wellies on damper days.
I bought some of these last season but they are too narrow for my feet. Been in the cupboard ever since!
What size???

If it's High leg boots that you wear?
There is nothing better available ! in the Uk than these

If you have a friend/family member?, then maybe they can bring you a pair back?

I was told if I decide to get a pair to order a size bigger as they are narrow.

The silly thing about me getting my feet wet in the old grisport boots is that I have a brand new pair of Dubarry Wexfords lying up the stairs in the box. Last time I looked, John Norris was selling them for £350! I won them for letter of the month in the shooting gazette a few years back. It'd be a sin to wear them through the briars and gorse bushes while chasing the dog!

Only thing I ever won in my life so don't want to sell them!

I have black islanders, they have done me well for the past 3 years but now one is split/leaking... only grumble i have is that if any wet touches the thinsulate lining at the top then the water is sooked in like a sponge...

Robert,
Is there a chance of delivery this side of the glorious 13th? :-D

I have also been a 'fan' of blackislander' for a few years...however, I now have two pairs that are not much good even for hosing down the kennels.
They don't do well...when bending down (spaniel stuff)...as Graeme has said.if the top half get wet .they are just useless!...
They changed the original boot' slightly to 'look more stylish'?...but not more hard wearing'?...especially for the northern cold/wet!
Harkila' is much the same ...over rated and over priced ..for what you get!
£230 would get you 4 pairs of decent boots, then you could change them every other day!.....problem is ..there are not much choice in 'High leg' :brickwall:

If you find 4 pairs of decent boots for £230 share the secret with the rest of us!

Meindl Dovre, Harkila, Le Cham Mouflon, Altberg etc - you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, unless you have about three pairs to allow them to dry naturally between days out they will always be trashed within two or three seasons.
