Best Gaitors?

Post by Goldencougar »

Needing to buy waterproof gaitors, have been advised to buy Black Islanders, looking for some feedback before I purchase. Thanks

Berghaus yeti, absolutely unbeatable buy you need a proper hiking boot with reinforced sides to wear them right.

There is a YouTube video that's 10 minutes long on how to fit them as you have to soften them in boiling water.

No wet feet for 2 seasons !

I don't know the make you refer to, but my best advice is avoid any that have zips.
They can get clogged up with mud and are a nightmare to do up!
The last pair I got have velcro and are so much better in every way! :)

Another Black Islander fan here, combined with Meindl Dovre GTX, best combination you can get, in my opinion.

The Wife and I both use the Barbour Wax Gaiters, they have been very good and half the price of the black islanders.

I also think the Barbour Wax gaiters are brilliant. Best I have had so far...

Honestly folks if you haven't tried them these protect your boot and hence your sock like no other gator

http://store.berghaus.com/p/gaiters/yet ... ers/434560

They wrap your entire boot in rubber and goretex
