setter/ pointer training club, north of inverness?

Post by mullislabracken »

Hello,
I have recently got a new setter, she is 14months old, but lacks much training!
She is a quick learner and coming on well, but was wondering if anyone knew of any pointer or setter clubs, north of Inverness that do training days?
Thank you

Nope!!!
But when it comes to Setter's, You may be better looking for a 1-1 with a Trainer who has access to game?,if that is your end Goal?
There are a few!..Just Google it.

There aren't any I'm afraid. Penny and Billy Darragh might give you a hand, they are near Tain. No-one really up here that helps people with pointers and setters, bizarre because it's here that most people have pointers and setters!

Thank you, will keep going by ourselves at the moment and see how we get on, if we encounter any serious glitches, will try and track some 1-1 help down! If anyone hears of any training days any where they could perhaps let me know! Thank you!

Hi Tain is not that far away from me, where is anne johnson based? At the moment we are having a few issuse with recall when she gets a sniff of anything, she suddenly goes deaf until she is sure there is nothing there! I have only had her about two weeks, so early days yet. Not sure if this is worth hassling anyone with or should I just work through it at home!

Get her on a long line and reinforce the basics of recall. I mean a really long line! Once she has learnt to ignore you, it will become habit! I think Anne is further away, she's near Huntly.
