Warning! Don't Do this!!!!!!!

Post by Polmaise »

Well....unless you have the same type/nature of dog (not breed!) ?...even then ,don't do it! :naughty: :naughty:
But, if you are confident enough and can read ''your own dog'', then hey?...It ain't the end of the world ;)
....
I was out today with 5 dogs! ....and one of them was a wee cocker called 'Pop'!...He is only just over 15 month old and had very little training, but enough for him to do everything right /or wrong!
....
I had him on a leash with the others on the first drive (picking up), and he was taking the whole thing in!!!..?(I inserted the punctuation to piss Sue off  )
The second drive I decided to take the leash of the wee bugger, and say nothing!......after a few moments he fecked off' sniffing at all this scented ground in front of him...It was the start of the drive!!
....
He worked up towards an area behind one of the guns and done a wee cocker type 'look at me I'm working' type dance at feck all!..so I just ignored the bugger!
.....
One of the other guns shot, and hit a cock pheasant high in the sky with the head folded back, and it dropped like a stone some 20 yards in front of this 'master of disaster'!..He stopped and looked ,and off he he went!....I still never done anything ,no peep, no shout ,no nothing!...He went out to the bird that even a blind man on a galloping horse could see!..and arrived at this thing with a sniff'!..and then a triumphant pick up' and decided to show every other gun in the line what he had!!
.......
After receiving no attention from the now shooting guns, he then decided to parade this prize and inform every other person in picking up line (spread over 800 metres of rough ground) I still!! never said anything ,or blew any whistle or recall!...(by now the other dogs were looking at this black bombshell doing everything wrong!,and wondering if it will ever come back?)
....
I waited until he was within sight of us, and turned around with the other dogs (now in the middle of the drive!)...and walked away.
.....
Well ,did the wee shite, not just 'trot up' with that pheasant and join us.
...
I took the bird (not the best of deliveries by the way) ,put it in my bag, and walked back to my original place.
....
Some seconds later, another bird was shot and landed straight in front of us !....
The wee cocker went right out as it hit the deck!....Without a command!!...often called 'running in'!
and straight back with it!!!...and delivered all be it ,scruffily to hand!
.....
I think this one will be ok ;) with a little more of the game in training.
But for god's sake! don't try this method with your'e dog .

Probably/...or not!
It is what it is however, ...So sometimes you just need the 'balls' to do it, or not?
.....
