Hi from Arbroath

Post by Bluelungbutter »

Hi there.

Just a wee post to say howdy before i start bothering people for advice. :)

I've been a farm worker for the last 19 years and in that time i have had a lab and german shepherd and before that my parents always had lab cross collie dogs so dogs have always been around and about the place.

After starting shooting around 6 years ago i always fancied a shooting companion and so eventually i decided to get a springer. Looked around and found druimmur spaniels and in particular their stud dog 'BULL'. Cracking dog but they had a waiting list at that time for pups. By chance we found a litter sired by bull not far from us and after a short visit we had picked a bitch. I've always had dogs but at the time we had a breeder with 7 flatcoat bitches next door and another 3 lab bitches on the farm, so i thought it would be damned cruelty to get a dog. :-D

It seemed to take forever for that pup to become old enough to come home but as soon as we picked her up we knew we had picked a good'un. (Maybe a bit biased  ) 2 sleepless nights with wining and full nights sleeps since then.
Lucy is now just over 6 months old and things 'seem' to be going fine with her learning things very quickly.

Anyway that's all for now and hope to join in the cracking banter that i've read when looking around on here.

Cheers

DunK

Welcome to the forum. :-D Arbroath is one of my favourite places ....my cockers love hunting the rabbits on the dunes of Elliot Beach. Great sea-fishing too, I used to fish off the rocks and off the promenade in front of the footie pitch regularly.I used to live in Forfar.

It's a decent area your right. Lunan bay is awesome for the dog as she loves the huge dunes there. :-D

Hi Dunk and Lucy

I spent a fair bit of time last Autumn walking the Angus coast - have to say Lunan Bay I can take or leave (largely from the inconsiderate dog owners I witnessed there) but, Wullie, I agree Elliott and south to Easthaven is one of my favourite walks and I cannot wait for Dicey to be able to join me.

If you see a middle aged woman flying a kite anywhere around there it is probably me! (in fact you are possibly more likely to see me hoping to fly my kites when someone else's pooch has gone away and left me in peace ... apparently dogs naturally love to stand on kites)
