Hello from Snowy Angus
Hello from Snowy Angus
Hello everyone
I have been surrounded by gun dogs all my life - some of them working some of them not so! Now I am lucky to be owned by a 9 year old GSP (Schilling but known as Dog in my blogging) and have recently been adopted by a Pointerdor (Lab x GSP) who's blog handle is simply Pup but his real name is Dicey.
Dicey was the outcome of an accidental mating but as soon as I knew he was a twinkle in his Daddy's eye I said I would like pick of the boys and his name would be Dicey since what emerged would be anybody's guess. He was the first born of a littler of 4, the only black one and he has three white tips on feet and a white chest blaze plus a smudge of white on his nose - very dice like.
Dog has not been a working HPR, mostly through me not having the time to do justice to him BUT Pup is showing promise and so I want to brush up my ability so I don't let him down in training, don't spoil him and hopefully then we can do some work. At the moment everything is fun and we are concentrating on some gentle good manners training. I have used Clicker and T-Touch with Schilling and am impressed at how quickly Dicey has understood Clicker.
Look forward to getting to know you and your dogs
Cathy

Re: Hello from Snowy Angus
Thank you everyone - still finding my way round the forum so if there are any Angus based 'get togethers' will someone point me to where they get listed/circulated please? Dicey loves everyone and their dog!
... and hello again Cam - that wee Ghillie must be well growed up by now - you still just as thrilled with her as when you got her? and do you still have tractor driving vacancies? (probably not after last year's weather/harvest)

Ghillie is good Cathy, 4 in june. Still makes me shake my head and smile at the same time. Regarding the tractor vacancy, You had your chance!
Last year wasnt good but we got there in the end. Lost a few pheasants on the lower ground but so did most of the estates around us. Hopefully this year will be abit better.
What you been upto anyways?
