If you want her to retrieve at a later date don't tell her off for carrying things (even inappropriate things!) Try to keep calm and encourage her to come to you and give up the article - then give her something she IS allowed to carry about!

That was my concern, I can get her to me but it is getting the item off her that is the problem.
Make sure you have something with you that is "exciting" for her to have - to give her immediately she relinquishes the inappropriate thing! Do not grab the article but put your hands on it and very gently remove it from her mouth then offer her the other article and (if you wish to) give her the "hold" command at the same time.

For the Biting, if you are yelping and it isnt stopping then as soon as she nips, get up and leave the room, not for long , 10 secs, go back in, she starts again then you leave and so on, until she learns that biting gets her no where
I agree with Vicky to read Ian Dunbars book, If you want her to bring stuff back and give them up, then id introduce a fun swap it game with her, encouraging her that giving something up gets her something equally as good in return
For stealing items, the best way to control the dog is to attach a light line about 6 foot in length to the collar. If the pup steals something it's easy to take hold of the line, or stand on it, and then gently bring the pup back to you. Offer a treat to get the pup to drop the article and put your command word in as she releases, then reward with the treat. Do not leave the house line on when you are not there to supervise.
