Yup!!!!
You will notice I am also praising the dog 'whilst it is holding the thing', and by enforcing through praise and encouragement,to install the picture of head position!
This dog is also showing signs of 'insecurity',around other dogs,so I puposely done the excercise with two other dogs sitting just behind the camera, and the 'pups yelping in the kennel block in the background.
This clip should have been shown first!!, But Milly always wants to see the end First :) ;)
It was obviously pointless to continue with the excercise in the field ,until the issue was resolved!

Absolutely brilliant, please leave them on You Tube because I need to watch them a lot more. The written word is informative but seeing a demonstration makes things so much clearer.
How to handle 'my confession'
Running in.
Not quiet completing the Retrieve.
The pup that can't find the retrieve.
Holding the retrieve.
Use of whistle.
Tone of voice.
Praise.
Correction.
Direction.
I saw my pup in so much of those videos.
Thanks.

So getting back on thread(distracted due to requests, and pms)

The Thread, was to show (hopefully) the inadequencies,we have as gundog handlers, with issues such as have been posted ie ,steadiness,run-in,delivery,using treats, heelwork etc, and hopefully point along the way, using 'Fern', the yellow dog as an example , who had history of all, or most of these faults?
The clips are unedited, shot in thier raw state,as it happened! parts 1-6 were shot over the last two weekends.
Part 6 shows an accumulation of this training. I am asking alot of Fern in the last clip, as I am now trusting her to perform with a new clients dog I never seen before, bearing in mind her history? (the new clients are not aware that Fern is not my dog!)
ps (milly dont think its finished yet!,we still have waterwork, and obstacles to train for) ;)

Keep em coming Robert, what a fantastic idea showing how you deal with problem dogs and mistakes handlers make if only we could see ourselves we would all learn a lot I'm sure.

Do you film yourself I'm assuming you do as sometimes your out of shot?

Yea! Sorry about that  The scenes are 'Live', therefore my first thoughts are on the dog , not you lot getting the right angle
The camera is on a tripod 'thingy' I only got it a few weeks ago! which encouraged me to do this venture!
There is one clip however where I asked my brother to be camera man ,but to be honest 'he aint no David Bailey' ;)

Yeah keep em coming please, great idea.
People pay good money to see this kind of thing, not I'm giving you ideas mind ;)
I think I might get OH to film me, not that I'm sharing with anyone
Like Rascal suggested, it just might be good to see myself. When I have a lesson and DLK points things out to me they're often things I didn't realise I was doing
Thanks for sharing.

Dont worry i will LOL i guess thats why if Trena (OH) gets a cocker I dont want to train with her. Its like when she was learning to drive OMG we could have killed each other so she went to another trainer and did his head in LOL
