Springer's hunting instinct
Re: Springer's hunting instinct
Have you thought about having a couple of lessons with a trainer at all?

Totally agree with Hartshay, find a shoot that suits your dog.
All my springers have different strengths. I have one that thinks going in brambles is a fate worse than death, so I take him beating at a shoot that is all cover crop and a lot of birds, for which he is perfect because he doesn't need to be hard hunting. My newest is fast and hard hunting, I wouldn't dream of taking her to the cover crop shoot, so I will take her to one where there are only a few birds and plenty of brambles
Some shoots want rangy hard hunting dogs and others do not!
