Anyone tried the remote 'lite launcher' from sporting saint. Just want people's opinion before buying.
Cheers Shane

Re: Bird launcher
Yup I have the grouse...not current model, the older one. It's brill. Really useful for pushing marked retrieves. The remote feels a little cheap but oes the job. I'd definitely get another one

Re: Bird launcher
Hi Shane,
I've had 2 of the Lite Launcher grouse models in the past and had to send both back within a few days with the same problem of a failure in the transmitter. I was assured that I had been incredibly unlucky to have any failures, let alone two, as these items have been and continue to be used at scurries, game fairs etc all over the country with excellent reliability. And there's no doubt in my mind that they are a superb training aid, particularly if you tend to train on your own, as I do. I have used a hand held launcher for many years, but my dogs know, however hard I try to conceal it, when I'm going to use it and it therefore loses the element of surprise and the ability to train steadiness to shot.
I'm sure I was unlucky having to return two launchers: but I can't help but be affected by my own experience, which has been poor. This all happened in 2010. I'm now back in the market for a remote launcher to use at the demos we do. Lite Launcher (who now market their products exclusively through Sporting Saint, having changed from Gundog Gear) has the monopoly in the market since the demise of Bumper Boy. I've been in touch with Lite Launcher and Sporting Saint who assure me that there have been a host of improvements in the last few years. The launchers are now more robust and they have changed the motors along with a host of other improvements. All this comes at an increased price of £250 for the basic model (£190 in 2010) and £270 for the pro model that will be launched soon, offering even greater robustness.
I've spoken to Paul Davies at Lite Launcher and Viv at Sporting Saint and they have been really helpful and understanding of my scepticism. They have gone to great lengths to reassure me and have finally persuaded me to take the plunge again and hope for 3rd time lucky. I recommend you do the same. And if things do go wrong, I can assure you that Lite Launcher's after sales service is first class. I received a no quibble refund with profuse apologies. Fingers crossed this time.
Good luck.

Re: Bird launcher
I have two of the Grouse lite launchers and they are brilliant. I've had no problems at all with them and bought them second hand. A bit of WD40 every now and then is all they've needed.
Re: Bird launcher
Thanks for your help. Look forward to ordering mine and I'll be in touch with how I get on
