Anyone know anything about this gent????

Post by Newbie2014 »

Hello, who is Charlie Peel? Heard a lot about him and have heard he is an exceptional spaniel trainer who even professional dog handlers use? Apparently he trained this years cocker championship winner?

And people really think OP has trained 100ftch's. You just hit the nail on the head. Word has it he hasnt "trained" a dog for a considerable amount of time!!!
A Spaniel that hunts but will not retrieve is only half a gun dog, and even those that are `sometimes retrievers` are totally unsatisfactory.

I hope this isn't going to become an Opie bashing thread ? I've met Opie but make no claim to knowing him. Whether or not he personally trained 100 F.T.Ch.'s is neither here nor there, he is one hell of a good dog trainer.

Sorry should have been more specific, new to trailing and heard through what I believe is a good source that this chap Charlie peel has trained most of the Openshaw dogs in the last ten years or so, must be a good trainer then right? is it only Openshaw he trains for or does he train dogs for non professionals?

A little confused as I was under the impression Openshaw was a trainer himself? is someone winding me up Bamburi?

I kinda just want to know if this Charlie Peel guy is as good as I've heard, if he has trained Openshaws dogs then obviously he is amazing, but if its not true I'd like to find out, just doing a little research as I am considering sending my 6 month old cocker to a professional trainer, I was told to ask about Charlie's credentials on here (this site) rather than just take their word for it? :-)
