How many people keep thier gundogs inside?

In a perfect world I would have a dog room in the house, tiled floor and probably a drain in the middle so's I could hose it down!

A big Neaverson kennel and run for my 6 spaniels, so they live outside.
But every now and then I will sneak one in the house with me for the evening to curl up by my feet while I watch telly.

Inside for me, mainly to keep my other dog company but also because of security issues. I don't live in a particularly nice area so I would be too worried to leave him in an outside kennel. That said, if we move next year as we're planning, or I expand the pack, I certainly won't dismiss the idea of keeping him/them outside at least during the day.

Inside, but I have a dog room with crates for them to sleep in. They are allowed in the kitchen and sitting room, but not upstairs.

Hi All. I have my two old spaniels in the back porch (double glazed and heated!) and the other five are kenneled. I have two 6 month old cocker dogs...having them in the house would drive me absolutely insane The kennels are well insulated, and the cornish winter temperatures rarely fall below freezing! The outside dogs do come in the house with me from time to time, as I like them to be fairly used to being indoors...I know they'll worm their way in as they get older!!

Outside for me purely due to the size of my house. I do get very concerned about the security side of things and try to take every precaution nescessary to keep them all safe.

Only if it had an outside cage attached!

I don't think it matters a jot where the dogs are kept as long as you don't spoil them rotten indoors and expect them to behave when out. I also think having multiple dogs around me all day everyday has been very enlightening as regards dog behaviour, something you miss if the dogs are kennelled and just taken out for training.

Mine are inside but do not go upstairs, sleep in utility room at night. I would miss them if they were outside, but they are Labs and so very peaceful to live with. Different story when they are out with me, very lively!
