Dog Insurance -BEWARE!!!

Post by big mac »

Hi Folks,

As some of you already know I lost the very best working labrador I have ever known and owned at the start of the season as the result of traffic accident on a quiet country round in Scotland. As testing as this was it has been overtly compounded by my treatment and insult at the hands of DBI Insurance (Allianz). They say "insurance is fine-until you need it".Well make your own mind up!!

So,

DBI didnt't pay for Euthanasia, they didn't pay for Transport (I live in NI and the accident was in Scotland) ,they didn't pay for Cremation and to top it all off, they value Finn who the vet that treated him in Scotland estimating him to be between 2-3 years old and to whom he referred to as a "specimen" but was actually 9 years old and an extremely well bred (FTCH parents) and professionally trained outstanding labrador (see pic below) and the replacement cost there off @ £50.....BEWARE GUYS!!!!

So just to clarify DBI (Allianz) insurance value this outstanding, irreplaceable animal who continued to take my breath away with his ability and talent to be worth
....£50

I am so sorry to read of the very sad circumstances of Finn's death and compounded by the unfeeling insurance company and the paltry sum they deemed he was worth. I briefly insured one of my dogs with them years ago and they wriggled out a necessary part of my dog's op, so never went with then again.

I am with the KC insurance and yes they cover working dogs - when I got the comparable quote they were well under NFU for better cover but that was a couple of years ago. I've made claims and had no problems with payment - very transparent and helpful, not the cheapest by any means but very good.
