i received mine today, it is made very well but its going to be too thin,it should be 8mm IMHO as this could be
hurtful if the dog really pulls , especially Bertie who is quite powerful and fast.!!
I may have to attach to my slip.

You would have to leave it trailing with Bertie and hope you can stand on the end before he takes off completely, even 8mm would hurt if he was on a mission. Leather gloves compulsory.

I think these thin leads are ok for guiding pups into the behaviour you are looking for but too thin for correcting an older dog, both for your hands and the dog's neck. I made up a couple of 6mm leads to keep in my pocket for emergencies / when the dogs decided to have a mental, even that was too thin for me but I do have soft ladies hands these days - when I used to sail my hands were so calloused nothing would have hurt!
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

Thanks for your feedback guys and girls. Its all healthy and constructive

I did expeiment with 8mm and 6mm and had samples made up. The reason for settling on the 4mm was because I wanted the 6 meter length to be acheivable whislt keeping the weight to a minimum.

I did not want the lead to have a lot of weight in the bow and wanted the dog to go about its training with minimal resistance (untill its needed to be aplied)

Regards
