Hi,
Looking to buy some clippers to do my spaniels this year.
Can anyone recommend some?
I have been told a second hand professional one would be better than a cheaper pet version.
Thanks
Dan

I use an Andis Pro for my spaniels, cost around £100 new. Ideal for the job.

Oster A5. Look after them well, keep them clean and very well oiled and they'll last. Don't drop them or swing them about by the cord though.
Wouldn't bother with second hand ones, professional clippers have a hard life and you'd probably find that you still had to buy blades as well as send the clippers away for service +/- repair within a fairly short time.

Happiness is where we find it, but rarely where we seek it.

Andi's Pro for me as well, like a hot knife through butter. Can't say it's a salon finnish but I think thats pilot error rather than the tools at hand.

Thank you for the replays, very helpful.

I can recommend that you never clip a spaniel!!!
Unless you want a curly, soft fluff ball of a dog!
Seriously, strip them out by hand. Buy a furminator for the bulk then a stripping comb for ears and feathers. They will maintain a far superior coat that way.
