CSJ Adult Champ

Post by Hector »

I have fed my dogs on Champ for some years without any concerns.
However,I noticed on buying the last lot that they have changed the product formulation - including a subtle change to the name. No longer is meat meal the first listed ingredient so I guess it may be cost influenced.
Since changing to the new product ,around a month ago, I notice a change in the "waste product". No longer is it nice and firm and there is now more of it.
Any other Champ users noticed a difference?

stopped about a month ago, using too much to keep dogs in condition, now on Kronch and feeding 50% less volume.

Have never used CSJ, but have had a similar experience with vitalin which I have used for donkeys years. Dogs losing condition, bad coats and extra 'waste products', now on autarky salmon and rice which has made a big difference.

Which Vitalin food were you using? Was it the Active by any chance?

Try using one of the higher quality CSJ foods such as Complete Tripe or Fit'n Fast, much less cereal content than Champ, so firmer stools.
Complete Tripe is 22% protein and is made from 26% tripe. Fit' Fast is 23% protein and the meat content is from Salmon. Both are Wheat Gluten Free.
The main ingredient in Champ is wheat, so more likely to produce soft stools.

I've used the tripe and agree it's a good food but it didn't suit one of mine at all.. :20:

Worth trying and they will send you samples and are very helpful...

I stopped using CSJ a few months ago as the consistency of what I received, CP21 and CP30 which are their top end foods, was all over the place.
