Apology to Darren Skidmore

Post by Megsdad »

In a recent post I implied that Darren used harsh training methods. I was mortified when someone drew my attention to the post as I had got names mixed up and was referring to someone else. I did some training with Darren and learned an immense amount but time constraints prevented me from continuing. I would recommend him highly to anyone and can only apologise most sincerely for any upset my cock- up may have caused. I would ask the board mods to remove the original thread as it is totall incorrect.

And I should think so to!

If you're going to sling mud and accuse someone of near ruining your dog, at least get the name right.

Your post was vicious and damning, at least you've had the good grace to apologise.

A mistake has been made and an apology given. Let's leave it at that.

Yes and let's hope any casual visitors or guests didn't see just that post and not the apology that followed belatedly

Having a go at someone who has apologised is much like bollocking your dog after its returned to you.
In life, it is important to know when to stop arguing with people and simply let them be wrong.

Not really, its commonly accepted that dogs do not have the ability to associate the crime with the punishment unless immediate.

In this case I am crediting the OP with the intellect to make the distinction.

The apology says they "implied" harsh methods were used. It was more than implied and went on at length and detailed the damage caused, so if you're going to publically slate someone that makes his living from his dogs its quite important to get the facts right, the trainers correct name would be a good start!!

They also went on to mention electric shocking of dogs and kicking of dogs by pupils of certain trainers. I suggest unless all this was seen first hand and the OP can prove it as fact they should spend less time gossiping, slagging off trainers and spreading rumours and more time focusing on training their dog!

Now if some people find that offensive too bad, there are far too many accusations made without the fact being known on the basis of hearsay by people who simply jump on the bandwagon. If there are facts to prove its happened have the balls to take action at the time and not do it hiding behind a keyboard.

There have been many contentious issues on here where the facts have , or could not be substantiated and I'm yet to see an apology from anyone until now.
An apology has been given have the good grace to accept it.

Talking about subjects like harsh training methods in general is one thing but naming individuals is a big no no on any media, you could very easily end up in court and that would not be cheap.

You did the right thing apologising and it was very good of Darren if he has accepted your apology and is not taking it any further, the mods did the right thing removing the article but it should be archived just in case it is required at any time.

We archive everything taken off here, apart from the blessed kitchen adverts.

Megsdad has apologised, the offending thread has been removed from the forum, enough said. At the end of the day one man's minor chastisement is another's perceived cruelty and we can argue about that for ever without coming to any conclusions so lets leave it at that shall we?
