North Cambs / South Lincs training club / meets

Post by colc08 »

Hi,

I am close tp Peterborough and Stamford and am looking for a little club to join for training sessions. Doesn't need to be anything offically, even if its a bit of a get togther with other chaps and there dogs.

I have been messaged by a chap from a small club he runs near Cambridge but was wondering if there is anything a little closer. If there is anyone is East Northants, South Lincs, North Cambs, Rutland areas that get togther then I'd definately be interested.

Cheers

Col

Evening, I used to belong to Cambs Gundog club, good little club but I couldn't participate when their things were on so I didn't rejoin, they have a working test in Sept coming up & help at other events too.

I'm from Bourne if you fancy doing something locally? There are a few people on here from our area so we could form a training partnership & invite trainers to come along for a couple of hours and we all chip in to cover their cost?.

Let me know..

Hi there. I'm a little late to this post, but I am in the Stamford/ Pboro area too. Did you two ever manage to find anything locally that you can recommend?

Hi, no, other than the Cambs GD Club i think it all fell flat..

I'd be up for getting together as a training partner if yo know of some decent ground or woodland to train in. I'm off to OZ in a couple of weeks back early Sept and maybe we could hook up then?

It would be good to get a few of us together to share tips, hints and observations etc.

Cheers

I really like the idea of seeing if we could book a trainer for a couple of hours and then covering their costs between us - good thinking.

Tom and I met last night and although he and I don't have the same breed of dogs we have a few of the same problems :brickwall:

Seems like Stamford is almost our middle ground (Peterborough/Bourne/Oakham). What about a pub meet up and a chat to see how we can take it forward? (Maybe early Sept when 4Paws gets back from his jolly to Oz!)

Agree and where there is a will, a need and a commitment from several folk then from little acorns.....

You will have to factor in some training ground though if you haven't already or you may find a trainer with that facility. And bear in mind that the shooting season for partridge and duck starts early September so you might have to train on a Sunday. You probably also need to find a trainer with experience of several breeds although they are all dogs at the end of the day....

Go for it guy's n gall's.... :-D

Good idea RAH, a pub meet would be a good start, Im sure between us all we can sort out a training ground and like the idea of getting a trainer for an hour or two. As Rascal said, where theres a need etc !
