I use a mix of crosses as far as rabbits go, you can experiment until you find the right ones for your pen.
I lost all eventually and I culled as I found any new ones that were infected.
I would be very interested to hear how you would go about sterilising a rabbit pen ! My pen has wild rabbits round it and they have been hit
with it as well. It will pass in time, the last time we had it in the pen was over two years ago. I have had several pens in the last thirty odd years
and it is nothing new.
As for vaccinations, I have discussed this with a vet and as he said they can still catch the virus and some can still die.
As you probably now it is not worth the trouble having a pen for just a couple of dogs they do require a lot of work to keep them right.

If using wild rabbits some have a degree of immunity. Cull all affected rabbits but keep and that don't show symptoms for breeding. Vaccination is expensive; the new vaccine is much more effective and lasts a good year (the old one usually prevented death but not always infection and only lasted 6months tops).

many thanks for your thoughts,
it is amazing how fast this virus can travel.
i am culling on first signs and at this rate we will have an empty pen soon.
back to the drawing board.
