Vehicle suggestions - twins + pushchair + labs

Post by keirk »

My wife and I have recently brought home a couple of very well bred babies (both parents FTCHs  )...

Thinking about how I can transport all living creatures in one go - What 4x4 could I get a dog box big enough for 2 labs plus a double folded down pushchair in the back? Also must have ISOFIX fitting points on the backseat. Oh must do 35mpg. And cost less than 15k.

Look forward to your suggestions

Honda CRV. Has ISO fix as well & good mpg. Not sure about price but you could look at an older model and still have iso fix.
Too many Springers, and Roxie the black cocker.

In reality, non. As in most things in life, you will have to compromise

Ford Kuga ticks most of the boxes for you. Range Rover (won't do 35mpg though!)

Apparently a Freelander 2 is not big enough for twin newborns and buggy etc. - that's how I got a good deal on mine ;)
Going on the amount of dust/dirt working dogs generate, even with a dog box, would recommend a double cab.
Congrats :-D

Having been in a similar situation; new baby plus 3/4 dogs including labs we went for a L200 pick up with a CAB dog box in the back.
Reason being no matter how good your crate / dog box wet dogs shake and that dirty mucky water still ends up in the car and is not just contained to the boot - therefore babies kit gets covered.
Love it as dogs can be minging and the car part stays relatively clean - just the associated baby dirt (vomit, milk etc).
L200 won't quite get you the 35mpg but think others of a similar class (Ranger, Hilux etc) will get you close.
