Dog hard of hearing after dummy launcher

Post by chrisjd2 »

Hi all. I've been using the dummy launcher with my ess she's fine with gunshot but she tends to lose her hearing a bit afterwards. She's a very biddable dog and she struggles to hear my voice afterwards. Okay on the whistle tho.

What do you think? Is this normal?

Thanks Chris

Because she is so prompt on the whistle and she was the same with voice prior to the launcher. She's so biddable??

I can call her or do anything when I'm in the same room as her and she doesn't respond at all. If I tell her to sit she doesn't and she Normally is bottom straight down.

Open a dog treats packet in the same room when she's not looking or pick your car keys up or even rattle her dog bowl and see if she hears that....

I'll try that Rascal. She hears the whistle perfectly and behaves like normal. just not the lower frequency voice commands.

She loves retrieving and I took her outside and threw a ball for her and then she waited for me to say 'fetch' but she didnt react when i said 'fetch'. I said it a little louder and she flinched and i said it again and she went for it.

So upsetting.

What's her reaction around the launcher? You say she's fine with the shotgun so does she react differently and what's her hearing like after just using the shotgun?
