There are excellent trainers out there but finding them can be a lot of trial and error!

Just wanted to post a quick update.
I've learnt a hell of a lot in the last couple of weeks, and me and the dog are well on the way to turning things around. He will now sit to whistle 100% of the time, even when I throw his favourite rabbit fur tennis ball straight past his face and when he is sent after a dummy. His memory retrieves have come on a lot and 9 times out of 10 he goes straight back instead of hunting for about 10 minutes to find it, and he will also delivery it nicely to hand (except when he can't slow down fast enough, which has given my 'area' some frights
).
Both he and I are now getting the fact that all of the fun, yummy and entertaining things happen close to me, and he is no longer sprinting off for miles at a time. He stays and hunts nice and close and when he does stray off he responds well to my turn whistles.
I have a long way to go yet, he hasn't met an game yet, but he is becoming very easy to handle and I am totally hooked with training him - it's so great!

Thanks for all the advice you gave me, I'm really grateful!
