Re: My wee boy
Things have changed a wee bit for Rye, he isn't able to get on the estate he hoped for. No biggie, he has applied to Thurso College for next year...fingers crossed he gets an estate to take him on for the two years he wants to do. We will just have to make sure that he has his driving licence before summer next year..
The exam results were good, and he has passed all 8 standard grades so very happy with that. He has gone back to school for 5th year to get some more qualifications....then he can do what he really loves to do....
Over the summer he has helped out on two local estates, for experience....and got worked like a dog...
but he loved every minute of it....he has got his lovely forearm, neck and face tan...So now he is looking for a part time job to give him some money behind him....but hopes to find one where he can still get out beating through the season....my wee boy isn't so wee any more......but have to say just so happy he knows what he wants to do...not many do....

Re: My wee boy
Haven't been on here for rather a long time, we have been really busy with tick, dog and son stuff. So thought I would do a wee update....Rye has now done his NC and just finished his HNC work....he has worked damned hard and is now starting as Underkeeper on an estate on Islay. He went there last year to do his HNC and loved it, he hoped he could stay. The estate he was on had only given him a year contract, and have another tranee starting soon. Thankfully he got a job on another estate, so gets to stay where he loves........hes defo not my wee boy now.....but a very happy one....He's dealt with pheasant, partridge, grouse, ducks, geese, woodcock etc and now deer. We have his first stags antlers ready to mount....and 3 others to sort out....lol.....his new estate has fishing too so even more things to keep on learning, which he dearly loves. To say we are proud is an under statement. ....
